Our very own Dave Rowland attended the annual Sussex County FA awards yesterday evening where he picked up his award for Volunteer of the Year.
The award is awarded to an individual who makes a difference to grassroots football in their local community. Dave is a worthy winner of this award having been involved in the club for over 20 years taking on every role that is possible along the way.
Dave is currently the club secretary but also takes on the role of club linesman, groundsman, match day hospitality, programme maker, fundraising event organiser and a lot more. His hard work helps provide opportunities for many junior and senior players to play football in the local community.
Dave is a well recognised person across the county, having made many friends along the way in football. This tweet from Westfield FC sums it up perfectly:
'Absolutely deserves this award. One of the nicest blokes we have come across on the Sussex football scene. Well done David'
Everyone at the club would like to say a massive thank you and congratulations on your award!
