Upper Beeding slipped to a 4–2 defeat away at ASC Brighton Rangers, but the lads showed plenty of spirit and there were positives to take despite the result.
The first half saw ASC Brighton enjoy the better of the chances, striking the crossbar, while Beeding created a couple of half openings of their own. Just before the break, Aidan Eckworth-Jones kept his cool from the penalty spot to give Beeding a 1–0 lead at half time.

The second half proved to be a very contentious affair, with several decisions not going our way. ASC Brighton levelled from the penalty spot before a difficult spell turned the game. Damon Pollard was shown a sin bin, and Rangers quickly made the extra man count, taking the lead when their winger converted a one-on-one. Soon after, Pollard picked up a second booking which left Beeding down to ten men.
Despite the setback, Beeding showed great determination and found an equaliser late on when Ted Shepherd fired in a superb strike from the edge of the box in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, ASC responded immediately and scored twice in the closing stages to seal the win.

A lack of discipline ultimately cost us, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance, especially the fight and quality shown despite the circumstances.
Man of the Match went to Aidan, a constant threat throughout the game and could have and probably should have scored more than the one he got.
