An impressive win for Beeding with goals coming at regular intervals to stretch the unbeaten start to the season to 4 games, as we moved up to 5th in the table on 8 points, 2 behind early leaders TD Shipley.
Ben Ward, Jake Cockerton and Pat O Sullivan returned to the starting 11.
A cross come cross from Jamie Rowland sailed over the Ferring keeper to give Beeding an early lead. And it was pretty much one way traffic as we piled on the pressure first half. O’Sullivan was proving a constant threat setting up chances for those around him, and Rowland was to add a second on 26 mins. Kris Harding smacked a free kick against the cross bar, before finishing off a flowing move down the right to be a comfortable 3 up at half time.
A penalty 2 mins into the second half effectively killed off the game. With Kris a half time substitute there was no stopping Pat in picking up the ball after the offence and slamming the spot kick home. True striker!
Excellent saves from the keeper stood between us and a cricket score before a class left foot finish from Ryan Warr, 3 in 3 games, what a great addition for Beeding he is proving to be, Rowland completed his hat trick and sub Drew McGill drilled in to the bottom corner from 18 yards for a comprehensive win.
MOM Pat O’Sullivan, showed there is much more to his game than goals. Constantly probing away and setting up team mates in a terrific performance, well played Pat.
With Rustington, TD Shipley, Worthing Town, Jarvis Brook and Montpelier Villa all winners, it makes our trip to Culver Road to play Villa next Saturday a big test. Two close battles last season with the stand out team before the season got cut short, we know we’ve got to be at our best. Should be a good game.
