MATCH REPORT: SPORTING LINDFIELD vs UBFC

Hopes of another Cup run for last years Finalists were dashed as we exited at the 1st Round stage. In heavy rain, the pitch soon became a mud bath that was to prove a leveller as a host of missed chances meant we went down to a goal on the counter attack from a resolute Sporting Lindfield. A couple of sin bins not really helping our cause.

Elsewhere, results in the League went our way as we stayed second in the League. However a big winner for League leaders Montpelier Villa 5-1 at home to third place Jarvis Brook saw them open up a 7 point lead at the top with 25 points. Makes our home game with them 23 November look pretty crucial, but we’ve 3 important League games before then, starting with a trip to 4th place Copthorne next Saturday.
