MATCH REPORT: UBFC v LITTLEHAMPTON UTD

Another warm afternoon at UBMF. Just the one change in the starting line up as Jonny Taylor returned for the absent Henry Hayden. Arran Tewsley had recovered from last week’s knock and a good performance with the Reserves the previous week saw Chris Barnett promoted to join Ben Ward on the bench.

The visitors were off to a lively start with Boutwood and Foxon prominent and young Will Lintott a threat on the right before our own ‘young’ Justin Gregory got his measure. Beeding took the lead on 30 mins as Jamie Rowland timed his run at the far post to meet a well delivered cross from the right. HT 1-0.

Rowland added a second shortly after the re-start, before a decent strike from Jack Kates was out of Dans reach and got United back in it. A 10 min spell when they went looking for an equaliser, was relieved by further goals from Kris Harding and Jonny Taylor saw us with the breathing space to see out the game without further alarm against tough opponents.

Our 6th League game unbeaten saw us stay 2nd in the early table on 14 points, 2 points behind leaders Montpelier Villa. With wins for TD Shipley, Jarvis Brook and Angmering Village it remains very tight at the top of the table.

Next up, another toughie as we are on the road to 5th Place Angmering Village.
